For over 35 years, The Mid-Hudson Valley Camp Program has successfully reached out to children and adults with a variety of special needs.  The camp provides a beautiful vacation in the country for children/adults with developmental disabilities, children living HIV/Aids, children living with cancer, and inner city youth.  Contributions from our loyal volunteers and generous benefactors have made miracles happen.

Loreto School, Lolay, India - Director, Sr. Brigid Darcy

Please Help!

Dr. Darcy’s cousin is a Loreto sister in India.  She operates a Catholic school in the foothills of the Himalayas.  Many of the students walk for over one hour each way to attend.  They receive a strong primary education, meals, and the opportunity for higher education outside their extremely remote community.  The sisters also provide tremendous family support, including medical care at a rudimentary clinic for women and children.

Dr. Darcy spent several months in India during her training (10 years ago – note the short hair!) and the school and it’s staff and students are very important to her.  One of her family members will be traveling to India in November and she would like to send whatever donations she can gather.  The money will be given directly to Sister Brigid and will be used only for the cost of operating the school and clinic.  The sisters live very simply (they don’t even have electricity) and their faith and dedication to the children and their families are inspiring.

Any contribution would be greatly appreciated.   If you would like to enclose a note with your name and/or intention, these will also be delivered to India and the sisters will pray for you at their daily mass.

Please send donations to:

Type 1, or juvenile, diabetes, is a devastating disease that affects millions of people—a large and growing percentage of them children.

There is some good news, though. For the first time, scientists are predicting that we CAN expect to see a cure well within our lifetime!

Now, more than ever, you can make a crucial difference. Won't you please give to JDRF as generously as possible? Together, we can make the cure a reality!

If you would like to make a donation, please follow the link: JDRFWalk

On October 21, 2007 Gabriel Pediatrics formed a team and participated in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk in Prospect Park.   Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is a noncompetitive walk to help fight breast cancer and provide hope to people facing the disease. With your support, Gabriel Pediatrics was able to raise $5,000 that will support the American Cancer Society's lifesaving research, prevention, early detection, and support programs for thousands of patients and their families.

Cell Phones for Soldiers

Drop Off Site

Cell Phones for Soldiers was created by Brittany & Robbie Bergquist of Norwell MA.  After reading a story about a soldier who ran up a huge phone bill calling home from Iraq, these two teenagers decided to help out.  They started by opening an account with $21.00 of their own money.  They are collecting cash donations and old cell phones.  The cell phones are recycled for cash and the proceeds are used to buy prepaid calling cards for our soldiers serving in the Middle East.  Cell Phones For Soldiers is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.  Their efforts have motivated people and businesses around the country to donate to this worthy cause.  Their goal is to provide every US soldier with a way to call home for free.  For more information, please visit their website @
