Gabriel Pediatrics provides comprehensive pediatric care to children throughout the New York Area with practices both in Brooklyn and Staten Island. Our board certified pediatricians and experienced staff help provide a very warm and nurturing environment for both you and your children.  Our approach combines the latest treatment methods with the personal attention you should expect from your doctor. 2. Merck Update October 21, 2009 - Merck Vaccines has announced the Measles, Mumps and Rubella individual vaccines will NO longer be available.  Merck has no future plans of producing the 3 monovalent vaccines due to manufacturing constraints.  Merck will continue to produce their combination Measles, Mumps, and Rubella Vaccine, M-M-R (Measles, Mumps, Rubella Virus Vaccine Live).  Please refer to the Merck Vaccines article www.merckvaccines.com/monovalentMessage_102109.pdf and website www.merckvaccines.com for more information.

PediaVision’s® automated vision assessment is designed to accommodate children of all ages, starting as early as six (6) months.  PediaVision tests for the following in one simple 10 second test:

o  Astigmatism:  irregularly shaped corneas or lenses

o  Myopia:  nearsightedness

o  Hyperopia: farsightedness

o  Anisometropia:  differences between the two eyes

o  Strabismus: misalignment of the eyes

o  Amblyopia:  lazy eye

o  Anisocoria:  pupil size anomalies

This 2 ˝ hour course designed for parents and caregivers will cover prevention, recognition, and treatment for respiratory and cardiac emergencies (CPR), choking emergencies and Pediatric First Aid for infants (0-12 months) and Children/Adults (age 1 and up).  There will be plenty of hands on practice with use of mannequins and literature for the participants to take home.  Also covers childproofing tips, car seat safety, what medicines to have at home and on-the-go, and much more.

Gabriel Pediatrics, PC has a 2 Registered Dietitian's on staff!

Dina Lipkind is a registered dietitian with a B.S. in Health and Nutrition Sciences from City University of New York at Brooklyn College and received a graduate degree from New York University in Clinical Nutrition and Food Service Management.  Dina is the Program Director for the Eat Well Play Hard Program for prevention of childhood obesity in Brooklyn, NY.   Dina has over 14 years of experience in clinical nutrition, individual nutrition counseling, specifically in pediatric nutrition.  She has lectured widely on various nutrition topics including GI wellness, food allergies, pediatric feeding issues, diabetes, and weight management. Dina is an active contributor in the nutrition community and belongs to the American Dietetic Association, Greater New York Dietetic Association.

Carla Coriaty-Hulla is a Registered Dietitian and Certified Dietitian Nutritionist. She is a graduate of New York University and holds a Degree of Science in Clinical Dietetics. She also completed an NYU Dietetic Internship at Richmond University Medical Center where she has been practicing dietetics for the past 7 years. She is an active member of The American Dietetic Association and The Pediatric Nutrition Dietetic Practice Group.
